I am looking to purchase this vintage seamaster. To my eye it seems to have all OMEGA parts besides the watchco replacement SS case and back. I see that it has a 752 calibre which is suppose to be a day date. I was wondering if I can get it for a reasonable price. Would it be worth replacing the movement with a 563 or 565 cal. This would be my first watch project.
Thanks for the clarification guys. As you can tell I am a hardcore novice. I called an omega dealer out my way and was told that this was a replacement case that can be bought. The dial, hands and bezel seemed to be original to me. I knew the movement was def not suppose to be in there
There are replacement cases, but this isn't one of them. Whenever you see this reference, the watch is shit.
Thanks alot guys! This guy had it up on ebay for $1200 but he's local in SF said he can do $950. It's crazy how the omega dealer gave me wrong info. But then again I didn't expect them to know much about the vintage watches
@ran4it2 these SM300s are one of the most counterfeited watches in existence. if you're a hardcore noob then just hang out here a while and get to know them first. it'll save you in the long run and you'll get a better a watch.
@ran4it2 check this out if you haven't, it will provide you with more information to look out for http://thatwatchandmore.blogspot.ca/2013/03/buying-vintage-omega-seamaster-300.html
Thanks for the link. I was checking that out this morning. Thats why I was made to believe the dial and hands were gen. I didn't like how there wasnt any pics anymore. I will def scan though the page more thoroughly. Thanks!
This link was based on my original post ................... http://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.p...mega-Seamaster-300-including-Military-watches and even uses some of my original pics which I suppose is fair as I too borrowed pics from the internet.
