    Hi,

    Im kind of new into omega,quickly fall in love with the speedmaster moonwatch couple of months back & stumble upon this omega vintage ref 1660174 cal 1022...what im bit puzzle is when i browse this ref is actually related to the Geneve & not the DeVille (pict attach).....anyone has any idea ?

    It's possible that it is a redial and whoever did it misprinted De Ville instead of Geneve, or it may be that models were marketed differently for different markets. Seeing the blued date wheel bevel/trim does make me suspicious of it being a redial but I will let the experts chime in!

    Thankkksss well i would like to think of the later case of product made for different market & have stumble upon myself on some rare vintage item,but couldnt find anywhere of this sort of deville daydate,makes me think also something wrong with this watch (&just know now what a redial is :) )

    Agree. Did this reference even come in blue? Edit: The hands look wrong as well.

    When you compare the condition of the dial to the condition of the O-ring groove on the back of the case, and the condition of the movement, the answer becomes obvious.

    No worries. You already knew there might be something wrong with the watch when you came in. A few months on this forum will increase your knowledge by leaps and bounds.
