    Hello All,

I'm just starting to get into Vintage Omegas and I was offered a Vintage Omega Constellation from a jeweler I often work with. It is a constellation (i'm guessing 1960's) with a rose gold casing and a stainless steel back. The watch appears to be in great condition. He offered to sell it to me for $800. It seems like a really good price but I haven't seen anything on ebay that I can directly compare it to. It looks identical to the watch below. Any thoughts??

Yes - I think I can't answer your question with such a small picture.

I wish I had a better picture for you. I'm just trying to get an idea of pricing assuming that everything (except the band) is original and is in good condition.

Gold dials on gold capped Constellations are always suspect.

    Be careful,

As others have said , the picture you have provided is of too poor a quality to determine whether this is genuine. The combination looks suspect though.

My last reply is the actual watch. The first photo posted was not even close. What are everyone's thoughts?

Looks better, but I think the dial might have been replaced? It looks like it's from a 14393 and the case is a 168.005. I have never seen a 168.005 dial without the Officially Certified on it.

I was told it is all original. I have the box as well. i'll upload it soon.

Any other types of pics that will help identify this watch?

Also try to get a pic of the inside of the caseback/movement if possible.

Could be Ref. 14902, although I'm not sure if these came without the "officially certified" either. I did find one on eBay:

Not 100% sure if this dial is real either. The Ref. 14902 and 168.005 are the same case with the newer numbering system.

Ah, I didn't even know that reference existed...::shy:: There are a couple of other examples without the Officially Certified so maybe it is all original.
