Vintage Constellation - Redial?

Not sounding mean at all. Earlier on in my watch collecting I was definitely attracted to vintage SS seamasters for the value, that itch was more or less scratched a few years later with a 16220 silver dial datejust. Recently it's been the piepans that really get me - however, I think if it's the right watch, it wouldn't matter what line it's from. I think I just like the extra "flair" from the pie pan. Didn't know how rare they were until I started digging. They do make pie pan seamasters right? I think just an interesting configuration that I could tie to my wedding day and keep forever is what I'm after here - pie pan, tuxedo dial, crosshairs, small seconds, you get the gist. Simple enough, right? 馃憥

It takes a good amount of time to develop an eye for a proper vintage watch. If you have more money than time before your wedding (you won鈥檛 have either afterwards 馃槈) a reputable dealer might be the way to go. Maybe check out https://www.omegaenthusiastltd.com/

If you have your heart set on a gold capped dog legged pie pan Constellation in top condition, here are a few photos of my 1962 14900 that will give you an idea of what to look for. In particular, note the clean dial, very sharp unpolished case, correct crown, Omega logo on the crystal, and observatory medallion that has not been worn down. As others have said, these are tough to find in this condition for less than $2k USD, but they do come up for sale from time to time. Hope this helps and good luck with your search.

Great reference pics, thanks! Definitely no issue paying >$2k for a great example like that, but would be nice to keep it "reasonable" considering I've picked up a few pieces this year already and hadn't planned on another. Bet nobody can relate there!

If anyone has a lead on any, please don't hesitate to share!

I'd just like to add I think the OP is highly unlikely to find a piepan Constellation with sharp/sharpish case in within his +/- $1K budget via the forums or Ebay channels. Sellers here are generally too savvy and market aware. That leaves pretty much only local sales/classified private sales where this kind of deal is possible. IME knowledge and the ability to move lightening fast are the keys to success here and how I find many of my watches. I would suggest raising the budget and staking out Sales Corner here for the OP
