I’m on holiday down south and don’t have my reference books with me! So throwing this to the experts...
bumper movt I guess 354. Shop says 14k case. Where they not 18k? Circa 1956/7 ish?
Wrong unmarked crown and I guess wrong hands. Is dial refinished too?
Only got one pic but can grab some more tomorrow. Price is currently north of 2k.
The thoughts of the forum are as ever much appreciated!

Personally I wouldn’t spend my money on a watch with that dial, unless I needed the parts and it made financial sense.

And is it just me or does that case look like a cake of soap before you throw it out?

I recon the dial would look good IRL, but the case, crown & price kill it for me.

My mom grew up in Nazi occupied Holland. Soap was a luxury, she still keeps all the soap ends. Anyway, back to the watch ...

I think it’s fair to say it’s not the best! Just wondering if the parts add up to anything. Actually caseback which I didn’t photo was actually good with only little wear to engraving. Oh well. If it’s any use to anyone PM me and I will send details.

and my mum did the same with soap!

Had a laugh when I saw this and the photo above. My old boss once asked if I could ask my wife (who worked for a company that made soaps among other things) if the soap bits could be melted together to create a bar again. He was known for being quite frugal...so at Xmas time I told everyone about this request, and we all bought him bars of soap for Xmas, and gave them to him at Xmas lunch at a restaurant. The look on his face was priceless.

But anyway, I told him when the soap gets that thin, just adhere it to the new bar and carry on...

Three years before I was born, my parents spent Christmas Eve with my mums sister and her husband. They are very frugal, so while my (notoriously romantic) dad had gifted my mum jewelry, my uncle had bought a crate of hand soap for my aunt 😵‍💫

Apparently it had been REALLY cheap and she loved the gift!

My sister in-law is a germaphobe (I’m a bit neurotic with washing my hands and elbows opening doors but she takes the prize). She uses the travel size soaps and throws them out after one use. Cuts down sponges and throw them away after one use....my brother wonders why they are always tight on money 😗

My view is the dial is original, but for $2K - far too pricey. The 14K case is likely a US model.
