Hi All, Ran across this the other day, not having much luck plugging in the case or reference numbers. I know Omega occasionally made oversize cases, this one was 39/40mm.. Found quite a bit on the Caliber 265, does anyone think it would be possible to narrow down a precise year of production? Any idea how outrageous the asking price is? Many thanks.
I had a lot of luck, apparently. Do you have a photo of the inside of the case back to confirm the reference or the movement to see what condition it's in? http://www.omegawatches.com/planet-...ache=1&cHash=1010d70f3e1609cb0f76a28cdd71217a Here's a link to some sale prices. I believe yours is the bottom one. https://www.collectorsquare.com/en/reference-watch/167048-omega-2620.html I would say the price is a little ambitious but I'm usually wrong.
Looks like a well preserved example with an excellent original dial - but price is definitely outrageous - half of the sum would still be a steep price IMHO
Sorry, I would have answered a few minutes ago except I passed out looking at the $6400 price ta........ ...... .......................... .....dammit, it happened again.
Much appreciated, not sure how I managed to mess that up. Thanks for doing some digging, I have a better idea of where it fits into the 30 cal lineage now. No picture of the movement, but based on the reactions I'm getting it might be wise to keep shopping around. Gorgeous watch though.
Was this watch being sold at a Ralph Lauren boutique? Certainly looks like it from the tags. Not surprised by the price, either...
Some RL boutiques stock vintage watches, and they're usually very well chosen, too. But the prices are almost always outrageous.
