Hi All, Up for sale is an original IWC cal. 854B stainless steel automatic with a really lovely blue sunburst dial from the early 1970's. The stainless steel case still retains its original polish, it has a slight mark on the top left lug and bottom right lug which are visible at certain light but otherwise the case is super clean. The crown is also original "fish" crown with a slight ding on it, nothing major but should be noted. Despite the case width of 34mm (excluding the crown), the 40mm length give the watch a very modern sizing when worn and visually balanced on the wrist as well. It is very comfortable on the wrist and easily accommodate different attire. The reference number #2149xxx is consistent on the case back inside and out. The cal.854B automatic movement was serviced and running smoothly, the movement starts basically when you pick up the watch. However, I have no documentation of the service. The blue sunburst dial and stainless steel hands are original and in mint condition, the silver painted dot markers and the ebony inlaid stainless steel dial furniture is a treat to look at. It has a different look under different lighting condition and makes for a great daily wearer. Please consider the pictures below part of the description, all sales are final unless not as described. This sale is for watch head only and the strap is not part of the sale. I am asking $1800 net via Paypal or reasonably close offer will be entertained. Shipping is included for CONUS sale. International buyer to pay shipping of choice. Please PM me if you have any questions. Thank you OF for the space and thank you for looking.
That one went on my list too. The question is fluted, castilated, or smooth bezel. Tapestry vs sunburst. They Grey DJ is just perfect. I currently have 2 grey sunburst watches a Bambino and a Seiko navigator timer.
I have this dial on a Yacht Club, and they are outstanding in person. Couple that with one of the best automatic movement ever produced...
