Hey everyone, I'm very new to the watch world and don't know much about vintage watches or Omega watches in general. My buddy recently purchased this Vintage 1970's Omega Seamaster with a marijuana dial and I really love it and would like to learn more about its history. I'm interested in maybe purchasing one for myself but I would like to learn about the history of the watch and how many were made with this design. If anyone has details on this design I'd really appreciate it. Also anything else that I may find helpful would be great, thanks for your time Here is the listing I'm looking at, I think my buddy paid around $500 for his watch and he has a black face with the same design. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Vintag...494837596?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item2c95fb555cPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
These didn't come from the factory like this - these are repainted dials and then sold for a premium. Basically a $200-300 watch.
May have been a special order, you know the Columbian or Mexican cartels...interesting as a discussion piece, but not worth a nickle bag....
Wow that is disappointing, that was pretty much my main question. So they never came from the factory with that leaf printed on the dial? I was hoping it was a special run :/
This is very disappointing to hear :/ wish it was a real dial from the 70's...on another note what would be a nice starter omega watch? i want something simple with just the date
Image having that on your wrist when you get pulled over by the police. You really want to have your car tossed?
Check the For Sale section. A few awesome starter pieces in there that I'd have loved to have at my start.
