Up for sale is this funky and beautiful vintage 1970s Haste "Aquamax Safety" automatic diver in classic dual crown Super Compressor case. It also features a lovely Near Mint black dial and striking minimalist inner rotating bezel. This big diver features a very cool ETA 2789 date-day caliber with double quickset calendar setting. It is in overall Very Good vintage condition with beautifully aged Tritium luminous markers and an extra attractive red-accented handset. This distinctive retro tool watch has great vintage style on the wrist at a price that's hard to beat for a highly sought-after genuine period Super Compressor.

The asking price for this cool vintage Haste diver is $750 USD OBRO including fully insured FedEx shipping worldwide. Bank Wire preferred but Paypal is OK with +2% to the buyer. Payment must be made in US DOLLARS. Other payment options upon application. Watch will ship upon full clearance of the funds, as well as any necessary bank vetting.

CASE & BACK: Big size 42mm wide (not including crowns) x 50mm long stainless two-piece case with sharp, sweeping lugs. Case looks to have never been polished just worn smooth with use and has crisp original edges. It has some dings, scratches and marks from the years, including a pretty good flat spot to the non-crown side -- Very Good well-used vintage condition overall. Screwed polygon Super Compressor back has scratches externally and smoothing away of the original nomenclature, as well as marks from poor opening technique, but the fancy EPSA diver helmet logo is quite crisp -- likewise Very Good cosmetic condition and again probably never polished. The inner back is corrosion-free with all correct EPSA symbols, text & brevet/patent numbers and screws into the case smoothly and tightly. It is date coded 2-70.

DIAL & HANDS: Absolutely gorgeous and Near Mint original matte black dial with textured applied markers and all original creamy Tritium lume squares intact. All dial text is crisp and legible. Framed calendar window at "3" features the date in black and the Spanish day abbreviation in white. Inner bidirectional diver's bezel is finely calibrated for 60 minutes with a luminous diamond at "60", cool red accents between 45-60 and is in Mint condition. It is controlled via the crown at "4" and rotates freely but firmly in both directions. Original lume-filled big red minute & small silver hour hands are also Near Mint as is the red-tipped sweep seconds hand. Simply a very cool and highly legible dial and hands combo that borders on Mondrian elegance.

CROWNS: Crowns appear to be replaced with generics -- I'm not familiar with the symbol on the one crown and I believe these would probably have the cross-hatch pattern originally -- but both function perfectly: the crown at "4" winds and pulls out to first the quickset day and date and then the time-setting positions, as it should. The crown at "2" controls the inner rotating bezel, as mentioned above, and also operates flawlessly.

CRYSTAL: Nice, thick low domed acrylic crystal seems original and is clean and clear with only some marks from age, Excellent condition.

MOVEMENT: High-grade 25-jewel full rotor automatic Haste-signed ETA caliber 2789 movement with quickset day and date (via turning the lower crown in two opposite directions while in the first detent position). The seconds hand is non-hacking. While I don't know the service history of this watch, this movement is keeping good time with strong power reserve and all functions operating as they should. This is guaranteed to be the case at the time of shipping.

STRAP: This cool Haste diver comes on a new black leather strap with white contrast stitching and steel buckle. This big watch has a lug width of 22mm.

As a matter of policy I make NO guarantees for the water resistance of this watch in any way, shape or form

This great vintage Haste Super Compressor diver is offered with a 3-day inspection period from the date of receipt and may be returned for a full refund (less any shipping costs incurred by the buyer). This refund is unconditional and once I get the watch back in exactly the same condition as it was sent to you, your money will be refunded. Of course, once the 3 days are over the sale will be considered FINAL.

Thanks for looking,
