Up for sale is this beautiful mid-1960s reference 165.002 Omega Automatic in all-Stainless Steel screwed case with original and gorgeous metallic blue dial. The 165.002 reference came with a variety of dials, including the rare Railmaster Official "railroad" version, but I have to think that a true blue dialed Omega dress watch from this era is also pretty scarce. This one is a lovely lavender-gray sort of hue that changes with the light. This watch also features a very high quality automatic cal. 560 engine with 2 positional adjustments that has just been fully overhauled by my watchmaker. Consequently, it will come with a 6-month movement guarantee and save you significant money down the road.

The asking price for this beautiful and fully serviced blue Omega is $775 USD OBRO, which includes fully insured FedEx shipping worldwide. Bank Wire or straight up Paypal is fine on this transaction. Other payment options upon application. Payment must be made in US DOLLARS. Watch will ship upon full clearance of the funds, as well as any necessary bank vetting. CASE & CASEBACK: Nicely proportioned 2-piece steel case with screw-in water resistant back measures an elegant 35mm wide (not including crown) x 40mm long and a mere 9mm thick. There are some minor marks from wear but the case & triangular downward sloping lugs show no polish--easily Excellent vintage condition. The formed bezel is likewise unpolished with only a few small marks, Excellent as well. The outer caseback has been lightly buffed at my request to ameliorate some deeper tool marks and scratches, which are still visible--Very Good cosmetic condition to the mirror-finished back. The caseback screws into the case nice & tightly and the inner back is corrosion free. The correct reference number as well as all other correct period nomenclature are present.

DIAL & HANDS: Excellent condition original factory-printed lavender-blue sunburst dial with hand-riveted white gold bar markers applied Omega symbol. All original Tritium luminous dots are intact but as so often happens with blue dials (for example the IWC Yacht Club), the lume has reacted to the finish and "burned" off a little area surrounding it. That said, the watch looks gorgeous on the wrist and you certainly know that this dial is all original and unmolested. The factory-printed writing in silver is present and crisp. The luminous-filled white metal "stick" hands and sweep seconds are Excellent+ with some small signs of aging but with all original nicely patinated luminous fill intact. Simply a beautiful and highly unusual blue dial on this 165.002 auto!

CROWN: Original (I believe) knurled-style Omega steel winding crown is Near Mint. The crown winds smoothly and pulls out to the time-setting position as it should.

CRYSTAL: Older low-domed acrylic crystal in Very Good to Excellent condition with some scratches and nicks and the Omega symbol in the center.

MOVEMENT: 17-Jewel caliber 560 full-rotor auto movement adjusted to 2 positions. The movement serial # of 22,60x,xxx dates it to circa 1965. Pink copper plating is intact and extremely clean and shiny. Additionally, the movement was just fully serviced by my Master Watchmaker and will come with a 6-month guarantee for all normal, non-abusive use. It is running like a top with strong power reserve and accurate timekeeping.

BRACELET: This great vintage Omega comes on a nearly new long red & black striped Zulu strap. This watch has an 18mm lug width.

I make NO guarantees for the water resistance of this watch in any way, shape or form.

This classic Vintage Omega Automatic is offered with a 3-day inspection period from the date of receipt and may be returned for a full refund less any shipping costs incurred by the buyer. This refund is unconditional and once I get the watch back in exactly the same condition as it was sent to you, your money will be refunded. Of course, once the 3 days are over the sale will be considered FINAL.

Thanks for looking,
