·Offered for sale is my 1958 Omega Constellation Pie Pan ref. 2852.3 with uncommon arabic 12,3,6,9 dial w/ original papers and very rare box. Just a wonderful complete set that was recently acquired from its original owner and now offered here first to Forum members before moving on to other venues.
This Constellation ref. 2852.3 itself is not one of the rarer of Constellation pie pans but what does make this one unique is its uncommon arabic 12,3,6,9 markers on this completely original and unmolested dial. Showing some signs of even however slight patina, to the naked eye this dial is a looker. It's gold markers and original hands still shine brightly. Dial is signed Swiss and the beautiful scratch free crystal has the Omega symbol visible in the center.
The case on this gem is 14k gold yellow capped over stainless steel. The gold is fabulous and of course will outlast most of all us. Crown is a Omega replacement as the original was lost at some time in its past. Case back has dedication inscription along with its near perfect 14k gold medallion with all 8 stars completely visible with the most minimal of wear. Case has not been over polished in its life and will not be while still in my hands. Corners of the case are still crisp and in great shape. This watch was not worn much at all in its lifespan.
The beautifully coppered 505 movement ser. number 16113172, is a sight to behold. They do not come more wear-free or clean as this one. One look says all original and low miles!! Perfect timekeeper. Nothing else to say!
This watch also comes with its original and very rare Constellation box. Rarely if ever seen, this box is THE box that the watch came with from the factory. The 3 tier design has a few minor scuffs on the front and comes with its leather pad but sadly has lost the insert to time.
The watch comes with its set of number matching papers and warranty book that still has the original carbon paper intact. This watch was never sold and this is the reason it's warranty book was never filled out.
The previous owner was a small jeweler in Chicago for 35 years, give or take per his son. This watch arrived and his father liked it for the dial as it was unique to the others that came in with it. As was his routine, he engraved it with the name of his best friend, who did not by the way work or retire from Wards. Reasons, if someone asked to see what a dedication would look like, he would show them the watch and also if it were stolen as a way of easy identification. The piece was keep around the store for years and the father took it with him when he closed up shop.
Just a wonderful original Constellation set that will be just a fantastic addition to anyone's collection. Comes with the band that it had when I received it.
Offered at $1650 with Free shipping to CONUS.
Thank you for your consideration.
