Hi there!

This poor watch has languished in the box for several years so it's time to let it go to a new home. According to the IWC applet, it's from the mid 60's - estimated at 1966. The caliber 401 is the ultra-thin version of the venerable caliber 89. It's in an unpolished turtle lug case which retains it's original finish (check the caseback). There's a little tarnish on it, but I'd rather let the buyer decide if they want it as found or cleaned up. With a little work from a good watchmaker who knows how to clean & correctly polish without dulling the case edges, this will be a stunner. The original dial has some freckles that are only noticeable under magnification. As usual, I tried to show the flaws as honestly as possible. I don't have a movement shot because I don't want to risk damaging the case prying it open, but I can dig up one from when it was serviced back when I bought it years ago. The movement was spotless back then so I can't see anything that could have changed it's condition. Since then, I've only worn it less than a handful of times, so the velour strap is in excellent shape and is period correct.

On to the photos!

I've talked to a few vintage collectors and gotten numbers in the low to mid 2k range because of the uncommon 34 mm turtle lug case and scarce dial color. I'll put it at $2300 or Best Offer. Included will be USPS priority shipping within the CONUS. As usual, offers consider after 24 hours unless somebody snatches it up at the asking price.
