Hi all, What do you think of this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/OMEGA-18K-1...732700692?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item5651641414Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Must admit I am interested in it.... - The case reference (14902) comes up as gold cap on SS, which this clearly isn't? But the caliber number is correct. - the lugs seem unpolished - medalion seems in reasonable condition, given that you can still see the bricks in the observatory - but someone has gone to town on the caseback trying to remove it - dial looks original? Daniel
Don't worry about the database saying only one metal for that case. That thing frequently leaves out information. Wait for some other opinions, because the 14.90x cases were the most often faked.

Thanks, just compared it with Desmond's piece on fake cases: http://users.tpg.com.au/mondodec//Counterfeit_Omega_Constellation_Cases.pdf and it looks fine.
If you like the watch, and it's obvious you do, go for it. Just be aware that these 18ct pie pans have been easily fetching $2500 - $3200 recently.
Agreed - this watch may not go as cheaply as the currently low bid suggests. It will probably push $3000 though because of the overall condition - particularly the caseback not being great - it may not go as high as previous examples have gone for. If the case was in overall excellent shape, this is easily a $4000 watch.
I think so. Unless I chicken out, or you give me the "pirate not approved" picture! Yes, scratches on caseback, but the rest looks good to me
Mike and Dennis had no issue with its originality, just mentioned the scratches on the caseback, so it sounds good to go. And its time for you to go gold, don't be a wussbag
i missed it. i was just underneath that, but didn't want to 'do an ash' just in case I got pushed too high
