    Hi guys,
As always, the demands on the wallet are high, and I wanted views on these two
    1) http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/11097043...AX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_500wt_1361Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
I like the dial layout on this. Case number matches calibre, matches serial.

    2) http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/13079404...AX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_500wt_1128Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Interesting bullhorn lugs. OVD says should have cal 501, but I think this says cal 500?

    THanks,
    Daniel

Both of these are actually on my watch list... That hooded lugs is in really great condition, usually the lugs are very polished down but that case is in great condition. Everything looks original.

Both are decent, but the caliber 500 had some issues with the winding mechanism. They can be controlled with proper servicing, but it's a more frequent interval.

But should it even have a 500, or should it be a 501???

Ok, more importantly, lets talk price! Yes I am interested in both, but what would be a reasonable price for each? This will determine my level of interest!

I think $550 would be a safe price. You might be able to get the Hooded for a good price since the pics are small.

The hooded lug watch is probably a US national production model. The 17 jewel movement is the tip-off. Both are real nice watches, but the hooded lug model is far more difficult to find in good condition.

Nice watch Norm. The stainless version of the Melbourn XVI (with a regular Seamaster dial) is a cool watch too.
