    Hi there,

got offered this watch ... LOTS of red flags for a vintage watch (if it seems too good to be true it usually is)

    but here you go ...

I know *very little* about the SM300 ... so pls some steering would be appreciated ...

again, gut says "RED FLAGS" ... but I again - not an expert.

    cheers, Al

Isn't that the highly coveted and ultra rare "bumblebee bezel"? ::psy::::stirthepot::

And they have even been so kind as to sand down all sharp edges on the case in order to provide a safe and comfortable wearing watch. Very thoughtful...... :whipped:

I am aware that it is one of those vintage watches some idiot tried to make look like new ...:whipped:

    but is it legit?

what checks out OK (albeit too shiney and what not)

    - I knew the bezel is not original
    - I knew the bracelet is not original

    what else ...?

    thx for piping in ...
    Al

Hard to say. Most likely some strands of Omega DNA somewhere in there, but all in all having loads of the telltales for when it's time to run away!

The bezel is not only "not original"......it's not Omega.

    Just to make myself clear:

my approach to this watch is not buying a proper vintage one (I know it is not NOS) - but rather i'd compare it to buying one of those Australian WatchCo ones.

    Again Thx for your input

WatchCo uses authentic Omega replacement bezels........not this knockoff garbage.

Are you looking for an authentic vintage piece? If so, this is a wreck....just slow down and drive right past it.
O and put a block on his email address so you don't risk rear ending him later down the road.

When a questionable (should I say fake) bezel, case and bracelet pop up upfront, everything else can only be uphill from there. Let others find the "hidden treasure" in that watch, if there's ever such a thing.

If you're hesitating between his and a Watchco, I'd suggest that you drop this one instantly.

Btw I loved the joke about the bumblebee bezel insert, whoever said that. Cheers and good weekend all.

Fake bezel and fake case. Just ask him for pictures of the case back.

I too am looking for a Watchco Seamaster 300. Read all the threads on here so to be as informed as I can. I too would stay clear of this one mate.
