Hello I wanted to see if you guys could help me.
I have done some research on this watch, but I have found no market value, this watch is in perfect condition and it works. I was hoping maybe you had some insight to see how much this was worth.
    Thanks in advance.

We have a couple of members with this piece, one thing to check is does the battery need changing and has it leaked? This watch at the time was about the thinnest watch ever made, and also was worn by Al Pacino in the movie Scarface (on bracelet)

If I recall correctly they were made in very small numbers, so although the gold weight is extremely low, you might find a collector of unusual pieces like this or ultrathins (or a Scarface fan) that likes it.

First we get the money. Then we get the power. THEN we get the watches...

The key is going to be that battery, if there's an old one leaking in it, that's a big problem

Yea thats what I saw online just that it was made in very low numbers. I took it to an omega certified jeweler and he put a new battery in it about a month ago so there is no leaking.

Price wise, its going to vary dramatically, if you had a couple of guys that wanted one it might do well, otherwise it could sell very low, its a wide range.

Are you being authorative or are you simply incredulous?

There are many problems with owning these watches (IMO).

They are beautiful but very rare, so when things go wrong it's extremely hard to find parts due to the small donor pool.

If you spend a shitload over the melt value and it goes kaput, well :(

If you managed to get one at a reasonable price and the same thing happened you could possibly on-sell it as a donor or convert it to gold/cash.

Although I'd like to have one (even if it does have a battery) the uncertainty puts me off.

Your probably not familiar, but some theses small rectangular dress watches require power supplied by a small battery. Who would've thought.::facepalm2::

My iPhone has a battery in it, and it tells the time AND the date.

I need to check but I thought that the thinnest watch ever was the Dinosaur, not the magique. I may be wrong, I'll have a look in AJTT.
Even if with a battery, it is a watch to collect. However, their price and rarity have put them (La Magique and Dinosaur) in such a position in my wishlist, compared to so many others, that I will probably never consider seriously bying one.

Longines made the thinnest quartz watch - the Feuille d'Or in 1979. The movement was less than 1 mm thick, and the watch less than 2 mm.

The La Magique is 2.6 mm thick. Certainly thin, but not the thinnest.
