Just listed tonight. 105.003-65 with a 7912 bracelet and (I think) real #6 end links. With period correct boxes.
Will probably go for major bucks, north of $10k. But is it all original??? I'm not so sure.

The EBay Ed White:

Analysis
I've compared the EBay 105.003-65 Speedie to others I own of similar movement number and I've concluded

1) the dial appears relumed. It's a bit too thick, too bright compared to other original 65s EW dials. There are flairings at the step at the 1,5 and 6 o'clock. IMHO, the dial lume should be less thick, less vivid of color such as this original lumed1965 Ed White:

2) I think the bracelet is not original to the watch. The 1965 Ed Whites were produced and sold from 1966 - 1969 and even later. The watches were matched with Contemporaneously made bracelets so a 1966 7912 bracelet or at least later 1965 produced 7912s would have been original to this watch. This 1st quarter 1965 7912 is too early for this watch. It was probably added by the seller.

3) The boxes were added by the seller/dealer. Why? The original papers , which were pre folded to fit neatly in the box are missing. Any owner who saved the boxes would probably have placed his guaranty card in the box. Here is a complete correct 105.003-65 example. The papers fit in the nice red holder which fit on top of the inner box. I think the eBay boxes, while very nice, aren't original to the watch.

All that being said, it's a nice watch irregardless and I might even bid on it. Opinions???

I think you called it on the lume. I've never seen that flaring before.

I'd say you're right about the papers and bracelet. My 149xxxxx was produced in Oct '67 and came with it's original 1035, so the 1-65 7912 is likely too early.

I'm just not sure about the lume. The case to be in excellent shape, with the original facets, which are often lost. The main body of the dial also looks, which makes me wonder why a relume would be necessary. I'll get some pics on my computer to get a better look.

I can see it going big though...

Interesting 😀 Why would the original lume have spontaneously leaked in the dial's creases?

I think it's a very nice looking example, I agree about the lume, the box could well be original to the watch but who knows! I think the bracelet is definitely an addition, but nice to have as its a valuable addition

I think the lume may be legit. Here is a closeup of my 105.012. There is similar flaring at 6' 8 and 11.
The lume on my watch is clearly degrading, but I believe it is original to the watch and was obtained by a very reliable person who swore lume was original. For whatever that's worth 😀

Lume wouldn't bother me on this one, nor would the bracelet.

Very nice example overall and should easily crack five figures.

I've seen that flaring at the step on other watches. always wondered if it implied a relume or not.

Agree on the dial lume. Doesn't look like that puffiness you get with natural aging in some examples. Would put me off the watch. Mind you, on the wrist it will obviously look much nicer re. magnification making things look worse

I have flaring on one of my Speedmasters in two spots. Never put me off and I never assumed re-lume. I think it just happens sometimes.

The end pieces are not 19mm.
Also the dots adjacent to the 12:00 are questionable. Looking at my 2998, Mine has deviation from the template at the step as well.

No shipping outside the US might keep the price down a little.
Very difficult to call the dial lume without seeing it for real. Rest of the watch is in very nice condition....

No.6's are quite 'gappy' but that gap does look a little on the large size. Fairly sure they are genuine though even if they have been filed/worn down.

I am not saying they are not the real deal. I am guessing they are18mm. The bracelet is in very nice condition, so I don't think wear is the issue. My #6 end pieces are very tight.
