Hello to all watch addicts :O)
here is the new acquisition that I will be getting within a few hours. My first Flagship , patty that the dial has many spots but the indexes are a killer in my opinion . Do you think that the dial can be cleaned without touching the indexes or it won't be good, I mean just cleaning the spots..... any one has one like this in good shape?
usually I keep the watches as I buy them, once in my hands I'll make proper pictures. Comments are highly appreciated . Is it gold capped or laminated? no idea about this particular watch. I'll make pics of the inner case later and share.
have a great week end to all
sorry but pictures from the seller are not great (glass has a big scratch too :O(

    :)

Case is likely gold-plated. Probably sold to Spain, originally. I would not try to clean the dial and risk damage, it looks fine.

I have another Longines and is gold capped, this one don't know. With in few hours I will as I'll open the case if I can by myself, otherwise I'll have to wait until next week that my watchmaker will do it. Hope more comments and I wish to see another one like this, the indexes are very special I think

They are very unlikely to be fixed bars. Have a watchmaker remove them, or snip them off with a metal snip.

Really gorgeous watch. Congrats on the find!

Is that after a really good polish to the crystal, or did you have your WM put on a new one?

Not showing the full serial number is just in case a bad guy wants to create a 'fake ID' for a watch using yours... or some-such...

    Hi,

What is everyone’s opinion on this Longines Flagship? The dial is scratched and the hours hand does not seem original. It also sits in a Dogma case, not the original one.

I like it, but I am not 100% sure to pull the trigger as I bought quite a few watches this year.

    Thank you!

Dial is not original either. One of the case clamps is missing as well.

This watch would only have value as a parts watch.

That you for your quick reply. My bank account likes what you wrote. :)

May I ask, how did you figure out the dial is not original? I am not questioning, I am asking so that maybe I can learn to spot some element on this particular example.

    Thank you!

No “Swiss” or “Swiss Made” at bottom of dial for starters.

Many of the register marks are missing.

Not sure about the font on “Flagship”.

It is possible that the dial is original and was subjected to a very harsh cleaning. Even if this were the case, this is not something I would want in my collection.

    Hope this helps,

That is helpful, indeed, thank you! Now I have more elements to inspect in the future. :)
