    i found this item and bought it. and i'm looking for advice on the varnish on her dial:

    any advice on loading up pictures. .extension measurements. tried a lot. nothing came up.

    Look at sticky notes at top of the forums.

    Should be something there. I don’t know if you are uploading or linking your picture.

    Leave it alone, trying to make it look better will likely only result in making it look worse.

    and i already know the crown should be replaced. my main interest for the moment is the varnish of this old dail.

    Here is the watch. The lacquer on the dial is damaged. An expert can remove the lacquer and put on a new coat of synthetic lacquer. I have seen the results and they are spectacular.

    The crown is incorrect, but modern replacements exist.

    BTW, I don’t live in Key West, where Hemingway and Harry Truman once lived.
