    Hello All,

    I apologize if this topic has already been covered or if the answer is easily obtained from Sala's book (I suspect that it may be). It is my understanding that the last two digits of the reference number refer to the design of the case. Given this, would one expect to find cases, of the same reference, with different designs? Below is a GP-signed ref. 22405 and a UG that is supposedly of the same reference. As is evident, the lugs have distinctly different profiles. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    The back cover looks the same, thus maybe someone just replaced the back cover with another one that fits the main body ::stirthepot:: ?...

    I had not considered that possibility.

    2=Steel
    2=Chrono
    4= Cal 285 or 287 or 292 - all different widths but same thicknesses 31.7/33.20/35.2
    0 = Case Style
    5 = Case Style

    22405 = COMPAX

    UG Case matches the Sala pic.

    Profiles are different.

    Thanks for the information @Larry S. Just to clarify, are you under the impression that different case profiles are acceptable within a single reference?

    From what I gather from the bible ... no. For the base digits...BUT .. an additional numeral 1,2,3 was added separated by a space or hyphen to indicate a variation in the case for the reference. I have several like that.
