Don't worry about it, I suggest using watch charts and searching on google watchcharts followed by the model, and you should be able to see sold prices on ebay. Ollie
Hi mate I do t know how to do that I’ll look into it.

here's watch charts for omega, I wasn't able to get thin arrow, either by name, RAF, or by reference number to show. To trend via ebay, you search and filter to include completed and sold items. The issue is it only goes back 90 days.

Watch charts (iirc, as I tried it) requires a membership to look at trends, but google searching plus name gets you to look at the individual listings, which you can then try to find in ebay. Most are 4+ years old, so that may not help you.

Another option is the many paid ebay trending subscriptions, with go back around a year on average, but that also may not have a large data set.

also, on the insurance front; don't know what insurance company you use; for me, my personal jewelry policy that covers like 25k worth of itemized pieces, is like maybe a $10 a month ( I use the same company for my home and auto insurance, so ymmv). For me, I'd rather over insure.

Thank you so much for all above information, no insurance as of yet but that’s why I asked so I’m covered.
Regards

IMO an original example in nice shape will be in the $5-10K USD range. It's a special and uncommon piece that is relatively undervalued for what it represents - military, nice size, antimagnetic and precursor to the Railmaster.
generally speaking, it would be good to say "hey, i've seen these kinds of prices" (there's one thats got a better case than yours for sale for 9,500 here, one on Chrono24 for like 4k, one on vintage watch specialist with a rougher dial for 9.7), and then maybe include more than one picture, caseback, movement, service history, etc, and then people may be more inclined to help.

Granted, those are asking prices, like Ollie suggests, if you want sold prices, look that way. In honestly, if it's yours, you're not selling, are not those general prices enough? What's the end goal in knowing what others have sold for?

Hey folks!

I did a small research of sold RAF 53 Thin Arrows with radium lume for myself as I've been in the market for one and sold prices are next ones (via forums, websales and auctions; converted to USD; last 7 years):
2017 - $6,970
2017 - $8,240
2018 - $7,860
2018 - $9,530
2020 - $8,500
2020 - $9,190
2022 - $5,740
2024 - $9,500

Of course it all depends on condition, but a nice example is harder and harder to find nowadays.

You need to fine tooth that policy- when they say $25k, that’s doesn’t mean you can just “say” a watch is worth $XYZ and get that. You will need to show proof of replacement value or a recent appraisal. And you can’t just walk into your local Zales and get an appraisal for most of the watches discussed on this forum- they won’t know what they are looking at (Omega, black dial, stainless case- could be a 70’s quartz DeVille for all they care).

You are best off getting a specific rider just for the watches and have proper appraisals done (which most collectors who have things moving in and out frequently are remiss in doing) or go with a specific collectors insurance like was offered by Hondinkee via Chubb.
I have had classic cars for many years and have always used Hagerty with ageeed values- never thought I would have to use it until I did, and it was worth the peace of mind.
