Welcome to the forum, I'm sure you will find lots of help and information from the very knowledgeable people here, however as @efauser says look at the posting threads first and maybe read some other introduction posts and you will see we are actually quite a decent bunch. Some better photos wouldn't go amiss either! Good luck and enjoy your stay here.

I think I can help, pretty sure I have exactly the same model.

I only have this picture though, so I'll try and add better photos when I get home.

Come on guys, don't be mean to the newb.

It's obviously a Seamaster De Ville, for the seaman around town.Even without seeing inside the caseback, that bracelet is enough to tell you it's the 168.0209 designed by Beryl Benta and only made in 1972 (very short production run of some 22,000 pieces) and fewer than 25,000 still survive. Considering it was made from particularly soft 24c gold, that bracelet has stood up incredibly well, as has the case. The platinum finished dial obviously looks flawless. The date wheel, made from the ivory of the Saskatoon walrus hasn't turned the usual yellow that you see on many examples and the polished jet inlays all look good and intact.

As for value, I'm sure a couple of the more avid collectors would fight hard over this one ... it'll go as high as two of them might bid.

About $350 though it is very hard to tell when I cannot even read the writing on the dial clearly as the picture is so poor

I love threads like this... seriously. It shows me I'm not nearly as bad at photography as I could be.

I can never understand how lazy someone must be not to bother taking another photo, that's actually in focus. Especially, if you're asking for help here, or trying to sell on eBay.

As much fun as it is to play these games... before the OP tries to get into this watch with a crowbar or something else suitably daft to get at the reference... this looks to be a 166.020 CB (gold plate over steel).

With that information in hand @Jcranes10 you should be able to hunt out other examples and compare the prices they have sold for.

As a piece of free, friendly advice, which you're welcome to ignore if you choose - posting better pictures, giving more information, doing some research yourself, and not registering JUST to ask what something is worth, will get you a warmer reception.

To everyone else on the thread, I realise I'm likely wasting my breath on a one-post-wonder, but I've had a good breakfast, and I'm feeling generous ;)
