I've had my 14K Sky Chief for a few years now...Just added a Leonidas in steel to the collection. Some comparison photos to share. The similarities leads one to surmise that these are not by chance. Perhaps the same case maker? Well, there are slight differences in the lugs and pushers, but still, one wonders.

Very nice watches, love the V72 series of movements.

I would say the case design and styles are similar because it was the way to do things at that time.

Just like all '50's or 1990's cars all have similar styling or shapes, watches seem to evolve as well. Some of the features are down to the functions and being able to quick set the subdials, there is not a lot of flexibility when you need a small pusher that can't be accidently bumped.

Thanks for sharing. The Valjoux 72 is such a great movement and apart of the history of some legendary timepieces.

Definitely a shared case manufacturer with a lot of these vintage 72C watches. I have an Arbu 72c with the same case. Your steel watch looks like mine, completely unpolished and extremely sharp.
