    Hey all.

Found this at a local vintage shop, i have a few questions, hope someone can point me in the right direction.

    I'm quoted 6300USD for this.

    Also what's the model?

This is by far the nicest watch I have ever held in my hand. Quite smitten by it. It's 36mm

Pictures don't quite do it justice.

Tried to search Google and even on eBay. Don't seem to find a piece with a similar dial configuration.

Alright seems like it's 4906. Apparently a turler model as well.

wow that is amazing!! I'd say 6k USD is a very good price, assuming the dial is not redialed. vintage vacherons tend to be pretty rare in their specific configurations to my knowledge, so it's hard to make good valuations...

36mm is a great size though. I think it's an amazing value prop - they have unique and far more interesting dial and case designs than anything else in that price range. AP and Patek are more boring or more expensive respectively, for the same quality.

I say do some due diligence, and if it's all original, go for it!

You can try sending these photos through to some established dealers, who are obviously very busy but generally nice guys who are happy to give you a quick opinion on originality (mentawatches, vintagecaliber, etc. are all very nice)

Haha thanks. Ya it's super nice. Was hesitating on the price and it's gone.

Oh well, at least I learn a thing or two :)

Raymond is very credible dealer. If you find out anything wrong with the piece after, you can just go back to him.

Nice watch. Note that the caliber is not as sought-after by collectors as the subsequent cal. 1071/1072, which has beautiful guilloche gold rotors, but still very high-class.

BAE460B7-794F-47E0-8DDF-B86272C7AD1B.jpeg Gorgeous piece, in great condition. You may never see that dial on another watch, because V&C did such limited runs of many dial configurations in the 50's. I have a couple of 36mm P1019's. Still a great value, especially compared with similar Pateks of the period. This one (ref 4870) is my favorite... stars, shark teeth, a Maltese cross... irresistible.
