    Hi All,
My first post here, so first of all thanks to the moderators for the exemption of the 200 Posts.
I am a private watch lover, no dealer at all, and I will try to describe as good as I can, the watch for sale, but if you feel that some information is not disclosures, please let me know.

I am trying to refocus my collection, so I am selling some few pieces.
Up for sale or trade it is a very rare Vacheron & Constantin, model 4073, case in steel with a pink gold ring near the crystal.
Watch is from 1946, and it will come with a Extract from the Archives from V&C.
Case diameter is 34mm and it is in very good condition, thick and solid as it should, it also as a very particular characteristics, near the lugs it is marked with the numbers 1-34, same numbers are also marked in the case back, which confirms that this case and case back were assembled together in V&C , and not later.

    Dial is very rare.
It has applied gold roman numerals, and the V&C name, and minutes scale are not printed, but engraved in the dial. This dial constructions consists of two different layers of material (silver and cooper), and as per my watchmaker someone in the past tried to ultrasonic clean it, but due to the different materials in the dial, it developed some kind of small bubbles on the dial, due to the different materials thermal expansion properties.
That problem is controlled as long as one does not try to clean it again that way.
It is not a problem that will progress with time, or wear on a daily basis the watch, as long as it does not get moisture inside.
Crown is not correct, but it winds properly the watch.
Watch will come with a proper leather strap and V&C steel buckle, both signed.
Watch was fully serviced in 2016 by my watchmaker, and used very few times since so.
I can provide some members in OF contact to access my feedback, but it is my first sale here.
I am also 8811zs member in ebay, but most feedback is as buyer.
I am based in Portugal, so if buyer is from outside European Union, it is buyer responsibility to pay all taxes and import duties.
I am not responsible if any delay happens at customs for Inspection.
I am private seller, but I will issue a seller declaration for customs if necessary and required.
Shipping by registered air mail (EMS) to the address provided or handpicked at at my address.
Watch priced at 4.000€ OBRO, but I am opened to negotiation, or trades for UG or Rolex men models.
Thanks and sorry for my English

What’s the story behind the 2 different crowns?

    Hi,

In the last picture, taken before the watch has being serviced, there is still the old crown.
Probably the crown format is/was correct, but the stem was not

    P6090011.JPG

Therefore my watchmaker replaced the stem and also the crown because the tube and thread was also damaged.

I believe it will not be to difficult to find a period correct crown, as long is it not signed, but the correct crown, I can assure although a little thicker, fits perfectly in the watch.

    Thanks
