International priority... priority over what? fanmail to Russel Crowe?

I've been waiting impatiently for my 20mm Orange PO Strap and 18mm OEM deployant clasp now since the 21st of September and the package is still in Illinois?

Supposedly 6 to 10 days delivery, reliable and affordable.

14 days later, the damned thing is still in the same post office its been in since the 21st, when the seller was kind enough to rush down to the post office before closing time to get it in early.

I realize there's a financial crisis, but did they stop funding the USPS or something? =\

My Magpul iPhone case is the same story. Going nowhere. This is USPS Priority.

You realize if you'd bought out of China, you'd have paid like $2 postage and it'd be here by now.

Considering Magpul stuff is made in the US, I'm thinking the ones from China might not be legit 😀

Gotta admit it looks pretty sweet, and doesn't cling to your pockets due to the material.

In my search for a simple iPhone case that didn't snag pockets on the way in/out, I stumbled across Magpul. They generally produce accessories for AR15's (the gun), but they've made a couple of iPhone cases out of a polymer-like material similar to their AR magazines. Supposedly it has a good tactile feel in the hand, but doesn't stick to your pockets.

And since he's not allowed to have an actual AR15... an iPhone case is the closest he'll get.

Well... Just wait until they start restricting automobiles. How long before your BMW is a "Category C" vehicle, and nearly impossibly to acquire a permit for? They'll say there's no "reason" you should own such a fast car. Maybe they'll be nice enough to let you fill in some forms, pay your fees, then update the software to bring performance in line with "Category A" approved vehicles?

I'm joking of course, but there's legislation here just as strange. The entire concept of personal responsibility is something Australia lost a while back.

My BMW already is a "Category C" vehicle.

Because a BMW is an imported car, it costs more (and it already costs a fair bit due to being a luxury car). As a result, almost all BMWs fall into the LCT (Luxury Car Tax) bracket:

A luxury car is a car with a GST-inclusive value above the LCT threshold, which in 2010-11 is:
  • $75,375 for fuel-efficient cars
  • $57,466 for other cars.
The way it works is:

The LCT amount on the sale of a luxury car is:
  • the car's LCT value
  • less the LCT threshold
  • less the amount of GST above the threshold
  • times the LCT rate (generally 33%).
So basically, you get penalised for not buying a Toyota / Holden / Ford. As a result of this, BMW has been trying to push their fuel efficient diesel cars into the $75,375 bracket, but the performance oriented cars like the 335i, M3, M5 etc all get hammered by it.

WOW.. suddenly the UK doesn't seem a bad place to live. Who cares if a few kids want to smash up the capital and there's over 2.5millon unemployed, at least we've had the best October weather on record 30°C 😁
