    Hello All,

This is my very first posting in the Omega forums. I'm looking to get some input for authenticity on a potential eBay purchase on my first Speedmaster Professional: http://www.ebay.com/itm/301890972844?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:ITPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

What do you all think? The photos of the dial, band, and movement look legitimate so I negotiated an offer and plan to take this to an AD as soon as it arrives for an authenticity check, but as this is my first potential used watch purchase I'm looking for some opinions of those more familiar with the Speedmaster models.

Thank you very much in advance!

It's legitimate. There aren't really any decent Speedmaster fakes and movement shots are always a green light.
There's no need for it to be legitimated at an Omega store, but in a future not too distant you'll need to get it serviced. Stick around here and pick up some tips on who's best at that sort of job and, oh, welcome aboard :)

Thanks for chiming in and the warm welcome! I also made my first serious watch purchase with the new Seamaster 300 master co-axial at an AD. I love it, but I think having a Speedmaster as my other Omega watch is a must. They both speak to me :). I live in the SF Bay Area -Tourbillion is the AD I go to. Any recommendations for servicing the Speedmaster in my area? And how long until it'll be necessary to do so?

I guess Tourbillion is an AD they function as an OB though since Tourbillion is also owned by Omega... Well Omegas parent Swatch.
