So Forstner emailed me back and said the stretchy links can't be removed.....so now looking at US....

Has anybody bought the US1450 and installed it on their 3861 Speedy....their website indicates that their "US1450 requires special end-links for the new Speedmaster 3861. If you need them, please add the bracelet to your cart, then go to the cart page and add a note before you checkout."

Just curious how is the fit..is it flushed with the lugs.....would be great if you can post pics & feedback....

Why do you not want the stretch links?

Why do you not want the stretch links?

I get flashbacks of the stretchy link bracelets from the 80's/90s catching/pulling my wrist hairs......in addition, I know Forstner said they upgraded their mfg process, but it appears failures are still occurring.....

I emailed them if the stretchy links could be removed (prefer it with no stretchy links, to mimic reg bracelets)...and they said no.....which is a shame as their (non-stretchy) links and endlinks look more robust & better fit/finish vs US.....

I had 2 US bracelets for my Speedy, one set of end links fit great and the other were terrible. I had the Forstner with the stretch links and loved it. The Forstner endlinks fit perfect btw.

I have the US1450 for the 3816. Very nice bracelet but the end links aren’t completely flush with the lugs and do stick out a little:

You can order the Forstner end links separately, or at least you could.

that's a thought I never considered....are the Forstner end links compatible with the US1450 bracelet?

Would be great if somebody did this to confirm....

not a 100% confirmation but I’m pretty sure I tried this a couple years ago and they are not compatible. That said, the Forstner stretch links don’t pull hairs at all in my experience. And they make the bracelet far more comfortable for anyone whose wrist swells and shrinks throughout the day. I’ve got 3 of the Forstner 1450s - only one of the stretch links failed so far and they immediately sent me warranty replacement links the same day I emailed them about it, also noting they’ve updated the manufacturing process to make them more robust. Fantastic customer service!

I also just fitted a NOS 1162 clasp for my 2254 and it’s a perfect fit:

Looking good! Do you know if there are available also for the 2252?

Thanks! Unfortunately, Forstner only makes bracelets for 20mm lugs. So you’ll probably have to source a vintage Omega bracelet to fit your 2252..

Thanks. Then I will keep my current bracelet.
The only thing that bothers me slightly is the lack of taper.

If you do not want stretchy links why not get the bullet bracelet from Forstner?
