Again another interesting investigative researched article by José Pereztroika.
Thus far I haven't found any good January 23, 1960 photographs showing the watch being attached to the "Trieste" bathyscaphe, it was probably attached to the upper part ?
As a side note, it's remarkable to see that in many 1948 to 1969 photographs, Swiss oceanographer Jacques Piccard (1922-2008) was often wearing two wrist watches !

Thank you for sharing. Regarding the location of the watch, Don Walsh told me the following: "The Rolex Deep Sea Special was tied off on the ladder leading from topside to the cabin/sphere. The entrance tube was free flooding during the dive so while the watch was protected from wave action, it was exposed to full ocean depth pressure. After the dive, Jacques Piccard recovered it on his way topside."

Waaw, thanks for this information !
Here's Swiss Oceanographer Jacques Piccard back at home, notice both watches one on each wrist and his wife also wore a Rolex !
Their 2-years little boy in that photo, Bertrand Piccard would later fly around the world in the Breitling Orbiter balloon (1999) and the solar-powered aircraft " Solar Impulse " (2016-2016 sponsored by Omega).
