I love the idea but I'm not in love with the coin. It seems a bit cartoonish. Something closer to the 1971 Eisenhower dollar I think would have been better.
These coins do a poor job recognizing the solemn achievement made by Apollo 11. The fisheye look is ridiculous. The footprint just looks...strange. So many better ways they could have done this.

Anno 2019, the Belgian artist Paul Van Hoeydonck, in cooperation with the Breckner Gallery in Düsseldorf, wanted to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his original art concept by making 1971 copies of his prototypical artwork available to the general public. After all, Van Hoeydonck wanted the artwork to represent all of humanity rising up into space, symbolised by a human figurine floating upwards in a blue plexiglass tube.
