    Hi,

Came across a Lemania 2510 based chronograph with what seems to be an US Import code "WYM" stamped on the balance bridge.
    Ranfft came up empty:

Anyone can shed some lights on this?

    Cheers.

I looked through the very limited info I have, and nothing there either. :(

    Same here.

It looks to be altered to me, or is that just the photo?

Asume it's just the photo. Who would alter such a thing?

Sometimes these import coded were hand stamped on movements after they were selected to be imported:

My Cal. 354 Globemaster has a very crude "OXG" stamp inside.

    Yes they do:

Look near the "A" for "arrez". US models will typically also be engraved "unadjusted".

No. Just a random example from the internet.

If you knew me better, you'd know that.

No story. Just that I think the Speedmaster is just another watch. Pretty nice one, but not nearly as high-end as some people think. ::stirthepot::

Now if you have one that actually went to the moon, or the one actually used on Apollo 13, that's another story entirely.

PS - Just to piss off the Rolex folks equally, I wouldn't pay the money for a "Paul Newman" Daytona unless Mr. Newman himself rose from the grave, took it off his wrist and handed it too me.

    Not into celebrity worship.

    Hi,
I also have a Lemania 2310 with import code WYM
    20180629_101455.jpg

I presume it is not the same movement you posted the pic.

No further information about this import code also.

    Thanks,

    João

it could be a Wyler code. Wyler along with a bunch of other companies were sued by the IS government for improper trade/import policies. There’s one company, Diethelm Keller that doesn’t have a code but we’re a large importer of Swiss watches in the 1950s and onward. I’ve seen Zenith watches with Concord codes but Zenith has no record of this. This subject requires more thorough investigation.
