In December my wife's Aqua terra began loosing time. The watch was nothing special just a silver 2005 quartz model. The boutique suggested we have it serviced because a new battery didn't solve the problem. So we sent it off. Last week I began calling asking if anyone had any updates on the watch, since it had been nearly 3 months. Yesterday I received an email explaining that a UPS truck was robbed and two of the boutique customers had lost their watches. I was one of them. Now fortunately the watch was purchased second hand for not a lot of money and it wasn't a huge loss. Let's hope the other customer who's watch was stolen wasn't having a nice 321 serviced. The boutique/omega service center has offered to replace the watch at no cost to me. The boutique at topanga canyon handled the situation very well. I was able to convince my wife to get the 38.5mm white quartz aqua terra (mainly so I could steal it now and then!). So long story short I didn't have to pay for my service costs and upgraded to a watch that cost more and one that I could get away with wearing every now and then. Not a bad day, although I may be leery in the future sending any pieces off for service even though it was no fault of the service center.
Typical Omega service center outcome, replace with new Won't mind seeing pics of your (wife's) new Aqua Terra!
For sure. The boutique couldn't give us the watch today because the watch has to come out of the service center budget. So should have it in possession by the end of next week. Will update with pics then.
Replacement finally arrived Pictures as promised! I'm happy with it and most importantly so is my wife!
Looks like it fits you perfectly. Does that remind anyone of the Simpson episode where Homer bought Marge a bowling ball for a present but had it drilled to fit his fingers?
That was the plan to get her a watch that I could wear! I ended up getting her the automatic version, and I picked up the 41.5mm version for myself. Now we have an excellent pair of couples watches. I actually traded the quartz one for my 2531.80. I thought it was a great trade. Quartz for an automatic I didn't want to offend the great @ulackfocus by owning a quartz! haha.
Here's another watch that an omega boutique has lost.. https://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-boutique-houston-galleria-lost-my-watch.48594/
