I bought this watch recently and asked how bad/polished this case is. A lot of people asked me for more pictures and I could not do it since I had not yet received the watch. I took some pictures and I am back again. Also it seems the seller told me it was a cal 750. It appears however to be a cal 752 24 jewels, is this correct? Is it correct for this piece? It was listed as a 1970 166.023/166.032 cal 750. Can you guys provide some more info on polish? Year? Is it the correct movement?

Also does anyone know where I can get this serviced correctly with reasonable pricing in Texas? Preferably somewhere that does not take 3 months?

I’ve had some work done - by mail - with a Texas watch maker named Gene Furry. He’s near Beaumont. Gene serviced and got a vintage lady Omega going for my mom. He also checked out and put a proper crown on a ‘61 Connie for me. He’s a really great guy, very devoted to his craft. You can contact him through his website: www.classicwristwatches.com

He’s honest, a good communicator and prices fairly. I like him a lot!

So long as you don’t let him touch your watch dials.

Some of the redials there are inaccurate and unnatural.

Well, it’s what inside that counts and I don’t believe the OP is seeking a new dial, so I think he’s safe.

@mikechi22 I am looking into a 1952 Omega Seamaster Automatic Bumper-Wind that has been restored by Gene (dial is original BUT refinished professionally, original caliber 342 movement, new crystal, hands, and gasket) - was curious to see what you think a reasonable price would be - is $1,050 ridiculously high? I understand that in the eyes of a collector, this watch isn't of much value, but curious to get your input. It would be a gift for a young graduate, and the "collector" aspect isn't a concern. What the ::censored:: does this mean?

Refinished is refinished. Case is heavily polished to the point where lugs look like they are melting. Movement looks like a conglomeration of mismatched parts. Look at the different colors.

Price is too high by a factor of two...at least.

Old watches are supposed to look, well, old. You want shiny and new, then get a shiny and new watch with a warranty.

Here's a good honest all original cal. 342 Omega watch:

It's not perfect, nor is it supposed to be.

It's the same junk it was in the other thread you posted it in.
