Hi guys,

I’m still searching for my second Vintage Omega watch. I finally figured out what I like to wear on a daily basis.
Right now I have my eyes on two objects.

First one is a Omega Seamaster De Ville

Year Around 1970
Ref. 135.020
Cal 601
Manual winding
34-35mm without the crown

This one is on auction so I wonder what’s a fair price for it?

The second one is a Omega Genéve

Ref. 131.018
Year 1966
Cal 601
Manual winding
34mm (35mm with the crown)

For 560’s Euro.

And if there are anyone in this forum that thinking about selling there watch that match anyone of those watches send me an PM!

Update. If anyone selling a Omega Seamaster De Ville please send me a PM. I’m still searching.

have a nice evening.

Filip

The SMDV looks really nice, also the seller is an OF member and one I'd recommend buying from.

The Genève, well. Let's say I'd go after the SMDV.

Im tending to be active when the auction closes for the SMDV. And hope for the best and that I’m fast enough.
What do you think about the value for the SMDV?

I don't usually like gold watches but that Seamaster De Ville looks very elegant 👍 No idea what's a fair price but I can say cal. 601 is a wonderful workhorse movement.

I think you'll find plenty of references when looking through the sold items on eBay. 😀 I personally don't go after these, so no idea.

Agree, it looks stunning! That’s good to know that cal 601 is a worker. It’s nice for the future.

Ok, did some searching on this ref regarding value. I usually start by looking at sold listings here at Omegaforums. Overpriced junk doesn't sell here so this is a good place to start. Found one listing for 695€
Next let's find a couple auctions: 850€ & 601€. Next step would be to deep dive eBay for more data points and so on.

Based on my quick little research 715€ would be a fair price for this De Ville.

Stay clear of the geneve. I agree that the SMDV is in wonderful condition. Be aware, however, that it has a flat back (usually these watches were sold that way to have more room for engravings) and not the Seamaster hippocamp back.

I agree, I’ll also did a lot of research of the value on this ref. And like you wrote it is between 700-800€. And I’d just lost the auction for the beautiful De Ville. It went for 710 euro. I had an auto bid up to 770€ but somehow it didn’t work…
So I’m still searching for a nice SMDV like this one.
So if there are anyone selling don’t hesitate to send me an PM.

Patience patience…

And if you compare a flat back or a Seamaster back, is there any more difference beside that there is more room for engravings or is it more a cosmetic thing?

So you don’t think so highly about the Geneve, how come? it’s just fun and interesting why others like or don’t like some models.

Hi! I have a Geneve 135.070 in steel for sale at the moment.
I’m not super well known on OF but you can DM me or see my collection on insta gram @franzomega
The Geneve could use a new plexi but runs great and is pretty clean.
I don’t have the status on OF to offer stuff up for sale in the FS section so I hope it’s ok that I show you this watch

That’s a nice one! But I’m looking for a gold watch. But good luck and hope someone see it here in OF.

The only difference is that one has the logo and not the other. I would say that the flat back often is a bit cheaper than the one with the logo.

Nothing against the Geneve models as a whole - you can get a nice cheap entry-level vintage Omega there. I just think that the dial on the one pictured looks like it's starting to deteriorate, and I think that it will look even worse in real life.
