    Hi all,

I local seller offered to sell his 18K YG connie with arrow markers. I was wondering what you all thought about it:

From my perspective, the case looks pretty good and is not overpolished. The crown and hands look original too me as well. Caseback looks great with crisp observatory logo. Any ideas as to what reference this may be?

My concern was with the dial--it passes the MOY test but I am wondering if the crosshair is going through the correct part of the star? Could it be camera angle?

I'll try to get some movement shots as well...

    It is a reasonable assumption.
However - what you need to do is look at the different font variants and match them exactly.
I’m on my phone so can’t right now.

The crown is not a replacement as it should not be the fat style.

I dont think this IS a pie pan. It looks like a domed dial to me

The watch looks all correct including crown for ref 2648, but dial is not in top condition so it wouldn't command top price.

    Hi Mike,
Congratulations, this is an early (probably 1st issue 1952) Constellation. I have an identical one. IMHO, I am quite sure this is a reference 2648. Cuz the caseback is a typical one, i.e. one step to the rim. Though this is not a pie-pan, it is an original arrowhead indexes. It will be exception catch!!

If you are luck, the movement can be a RG , i.e. a cal.352 instead of a usual bumper cal.354.
    Good luck! Mike.

When you said the watch us offerred by local seller, I would guess you are in United States. I am in Hong Kong and can only offer my humble opinion on experience in eBay. I would say around US$2,000 to US$2,200 if it was on eBay. Maybe other respectful OF members in States can give you a better estimate or guestimate ?
    Hope it helps.
Good luck in successful hunting !

A pie pan? They lied to me that my 2699 was the first pie pan model. :whipped:

Quite apparent that those pie-pan 2648 were made after those first 2699. Let's compare the serial numbers to see.

    Here's another one:

Do you know approximately how long after the Constellation was introduced they started making the pie-pan dials?
