    Hi Guys,
    Who is watching and/or participating in the Geneva watch auctions starting this weekend? Anything in particular you are eyeing? Some pretty sweet & rare watches will be available, so I'm excited. I would love to be there in person just to rub elbows with the well-known dealers & collectors. Have my eye on a few pieces, but not sure if my mouse-clicks (and wallet) can compete.

    There's one or two I'd like to own, but I won't bid. :)

    Don't forget these come with a hefty buyers premium if you are going to make an offer.

    If you haven't already, read up on speedmaster101 for a breakdown of the speedies that spacefruit wrote.

    I am interested in seeing what the Speedy goes for as well as a few of the vintage Rolex. From the last few months it has been quiet on the
    vintage markets and a lack of really nice examples.

    I have a rule, I don't tell people what to buy and what not to buy. But all I will say is that price aside, only one of the Geneva speedmasters is one I would consider owning.

    I am sure all of them will find happy homes. Just not in mine.

    I don't think anyone could ask for more than observations tempered by experience. I certainly wouldn't.

    @Drawarms It is indeed!
    From my point of view, they have an impressive selection!

    I was there last year.
    It is really interesting to attend presentations as you won't see many of these watches very often.
    And it is even more exciting to be in the room ^^.

    I didn't spot that. I am going to have to keep a database.......

    For those that need a quick précis, Speedy4ever has spotted the same movement number in Antiquorums 2012 sale in a 105002, only to reappear in Antiquorum's may 2015 sale in a 2998-4.

    It's not for nothing then that my "Assembly Radar" has been tingling all around those Geneva auctions.

    If auction houses didn't have pretty girls at the viewings I'd never bother going.....

    Yes. Not a single lot that went for a clear-eyed price - as Bacs intended for his debut effort. He knows how to generate interest, and he has a remarkable following of deep-pocketed bidders that seem to eat from his hand. I'll hand it to him - he knows his trade.
