Nice bit of trivia. Heres a very unual looking watch case. I think its from an Omega De Ville from 1970. Never seen anything like it before. I would be tempted to pick it up just as an oddity if it was going for peanuts but the seller is asking too much. I think its hideous but suppose its a talking point. Never knew such a thing existed though I have seen a wooden dialed Omega before.
Oh its not my watch. Someone is selling the case online without the movement. I wonder if it also had a wooden dial? Came across it while browsing.

My guess it is a custom wood case Made by someone else. Or I see signs it’s bronze with a coating or brushing on it. Original case.
Yep - it clearly says it's a 20 micron plated case right inside. The case is for a DeVille model, and is listed for use with a Cal. 620. Came in pink or yellow gold plate. Cheers, Al
