    Hi all

VINTAGE OMEGA SEAMASTER WHITE TEXTURE DIAL 18 CARAT GOLD MENS WATCH (serviced): http://bit.ly/UjXUoH

I quite like this dial, but the inscription on the inside caseback isn't one I've seen before. Is it legit?

    That's not a Bienne-made case.

Hmm it has the old Omega stamp, possibly of French origina, and was purchased in 49 according to the inscription on the case back. However a 14 million serial number would date this movement to around 1954, so we know its at least slightly Franken. Movement doesn't look like a 28.10 but a cal 351. Also the case is not a Seamaster case, unless its a very over-polished 2989. Its looking evermore Franken to me.

    Cheers

    Desmond

Thanks Desmond! I already figured it was expensive, now I will steer well clear. I assumed it was a national production case, which made the research that much harder.

Most of my watches are 33m so I'm used to that.
