Dear Univeral lovers and OF members,

I would like your opinion on this Universal Triple date.

I have some questions about the hands and the sub dial, the numerals seem different to the others members triple date. However, the Universal font seems good to me but I don't have enough experience or knowledge with this model to go ahead with an offer.
I know the case is gold platted and not in the best shape but I could recase it if need be.

Would love your opinion on this.

Thank you very for your time and help.

    Jonatan

Font is unusual, but looks original. I would avoid it, your better finding a steel one or a solid gold one IMO There is a steel one on the bay, better than a plated or gold filled one !

A really really bad redial. Start and end with sub dials but then there is the minute track...... hideous. The re-dialer should be horse whipped.::puke::

    Hi,
Looks to be a refinished dial as mentioned earlier.
Does it look like the case has been replated to anyone?

Might as well continue on the same thread. I need your help again for another piece that just popped up. The dial is a little dirty but I think it's original.

    Little unusual.

I don't have Sala's book because from what I heard it mostly concentrates on chronographs and my collection is consisted of time only watches. That beeing said I should probably consider buying one since you are spot on. Here are some pictures of the case back. Serial number brings it to the early 40s.

That concerned me also but that case looks too clean to have been tampered with.

I bought my first pocket watch (UG 1930s) from this seller and he asked if I could be interested in this time only also.

The hour and minute hands and the crown might not be original to this reference?

Can't say that. Reference is case only. The reason I showed you first example is that alpha hands were used in early 40s. UG allowed a lot of variation. Personally ... if you can get it for a decent number .. interesting watch. Lume looks consistent on hands and dial.

Not sure about crown. It's early 40's .. forgiven if replaced. Case looks great. Bit polished but clean.

Thanks Larry for the help. Really appreciate it. I will try to get it but not sure I'll be able to. Lots of offers lately and unfortunately can't get everything.

    A little Universal.

There are several mixed-metal UG references

Certainly wouldn't be my choice, one or the other. Seems like UG liked to mix and (mis)match.
