Interesting FB post on 10 April 2019 on City Chain's FB feed following UG's update to their website here: https://universal.ch/about-us/history/ although a quick google search of "871.127" suggests that City Chain may be clearing old stock.

"[Universal Geneve strong return] classic from the universe
If you are a high-end watch enthusiast, you must be particularly impressed with the cosmic table, but if you don't understand it, don't worry, we will now re-recognize this classic brand worthy of study and appreciation. Since the founding of Universal Geneve in 1894, the heads of Numa Emile Descombes and Ulysse Georges Perret have been working on placing every movement in the watch. As a result, they are not only self-sufficient, but also quickly distribute parts to the rest of the world. The First World War did not blow up the universe. In 1934, the Great Depression of the World Economy was not enough. They also participated in the Basel Watch Fair. Two years later, they released the first two-button chronograph series, Compax and the revolutionary 12-hour cumulative dial, which in turn created the world's finest female chronograph, called the cosmic table as a chronograph. pioneer. No one disagreed at the time. But when we entered the 21st century, the brand was replaced by a new leadership, and the entire assembly was on the road. Myths are gradually emerging, and more and more watches are being discussed... I believe that I understand the glorious history of the brand and the curiosity and affection of each person's products.

Today, I will introduce you to the Uni-Timer, a classic brand. Uni-Timer's surface layout is relatively simple, with a double-circle design, giving up the 12-hour cumulative disc, leaving only 60 seconds in 3 o'clock and 30-minute accumulating in 9 o'clock position, also freeing up more space for designers Play. As a result, the designer clearly divided the dial painting into several areas, highlighting three different levels: first, the center of the dial is decorated with soft and wavy lines, while the two chronograph discs are decorated with spiral patterns. A smooth gray outer ring comes in a balanced summary. The design table can be designed to be elegant, and the cosmic table is the watch. The beauty of Uni-Timer is not limited to this. Its subtle design also has chronograph needle and second hand made of blue steel. Inverted bottom will see the oscillating weight of 3N gold cast in UG 71.5 movement. The brand's U logo and sun embossing. The watch has been released at some City Chain Primo stores. The number is limited. Please contact INBOX or call our customer service hotline at 852-2113 2266 for more information."

Universal has a HUGE potential. They just need the right persons. All they doing here is junk. So sad...

Although I haven't been to a single City Chain store in years (as I haven't been to HK in a while), I knew they were the wrong company to own UG. I don't think it's in their DNA to hire those kinds of people.

And City Chain has confirmed this is an old model. Not a new release for 2019

The lines "The First World War did not blow up the universe. In 1934, the Great Depression of the World Economy was not enough." really bring it home for me. :taunt:
