Just picked this up and couldn’t be happier with it. Other than the beauty owned by our friend @Dre , I haven’t seen many similar models around anywhere. Automatic Microtor, caliber 215 (though I haven’t opened up the back yet to take pics of the movement), and am trying to figure out where to score a signed crown in rose gold from the late 50s that will fit.... Dial is deep black, with some light “texture” to it after all these years (late 50s, based on the 198xxxx serial). Bought it from a local watch guru in his 90s who has had it in his collection for more than 25 years. Enjoy, and any comments, observations (or offers of a crown!) welcome!
Actually, he wore it regularly! Saw it on his wrist the day I first met him (interestingly, at his home to see some of his vintage Pateks...), and it took me several months to get him to part with it. And lest anyone think I hoodwinked a senior citizen, I assure you he knew exactly what he had and made me pay dearly for it! Definitely not a UG strap. On the hunt for something to coordinate nicely with the black and rose gold, if you have any suggestions!
Sometimes crowns pop up on other trading forums, etsy and Instagram. If all else fails, a WTB here and/or replating a correct logo one should be ok too.
Already scanning for one, thanks. How do I determine exactly what size I need to match my caliber 215...?
@gop76 and @Oku helped me out in recognizing a crown for my non De Luxe Polerouter 215-1, so they may be the best port of call, as well as the local UG affectionados You should be ok as long as it's 2mm or more in height and around 4mm in diameter.
That's a beautiful Polerouter! It really "floats my boat." Love the rose gold! A similar Polerouter is on my rather "want" list. Thanks for posting that inspiring photograph. Elegant vintage dress watches are my favorites of all.
Funny, a polerouter wasn't particularly at the top of my list - until I saw this one. Really "different" in the De Luxe model (18k), in rose gold with the black dial. It's definitely special. Thanks so much for the kind words - and hope you find what you're looking for too!
a real beauty, it may be the only gold watch that I would love having: a rose gold Polerouter! More photos please
Great watch! Silly question here - is the dial solid gold since it is the de luxe version? As I’m looking to buy a similar one...
Wow! Hats off to you in finding such a beauty and the perseverance over the months to obtain it from what sounds like her origional owner. As many have said I'm sure, wear it in good health
