I have an older polerouter sub (869109). The pearl (pip) is long gone. Just curious if anyone knows what they originally used there?

it is paint. you will find that many have been re-painted.

it looks like there is a circular depression, like something once sat there. had me puzzled and I could not find any clear pictures on the web.
