Would you know anything about it? Took to a lot of jewellers and they don't know anything

Hi there. This model existed in rose gold and yellow gold and was produced in 1955-56 if I'm not mistaken. Model number is the lower number (in height not in size) on the back of your watch. The serial number is the top one.

Your watch in question looks to be in good condition. Dial looks original. Here's is one similar that has been for sale for ever.

It's a very nice watch but might not fit with jogging pants;)

Zenith actually had a rather similar model.

Both this UG and the Zenith are of course mens watches but I have always thought of them as a perfect gift for a woman of today. Mens size but sort of feminine looking.

To OP - you are lucky as the box is still with it. Looks like python skin. Keep it safe.

I do not believe this watch to be very valuable, eventhough somewhat rare, as it does not appeal to a lot of collectors. The estimate at the auction I posted a link to - 3-3500 USD was not very realistic - and no one bid at 1500.

Yes I think styggpyggeno1 is correct for value and unfortunately only because it's not sought after by collectors.

The original box is an added bonus.

I for one would have no problem wearing it but it would also look great on my wife.

The model might be called DIORAMIC since it's written inside the box.

Dial looks repainted. Apart from that, everything else looks ok, box is a bonus. Circa 1956.

When making such a statement - please tell why.

    OP's dial
    [IMG]

Compare to the 2 others, excluding the one in eBay that Jonathan posted above, the photos aren't clear enough,

Though it's different colour dial, font looks wrong on the OP's dial, lack of SWISS. That said, this watch is out of my orbit of existence, so I stand to be corrected.

I was not saying you were wrong (and even if you are so) - I am just a little annoyed over the way a lot of posters cry out "redial" or "repainted" without telling why. When watches are as unusual as this one and there are not much reference material - there has to be some substance in answers.

My bad, apologies. I know I said the dial looks repainted, but I should've known better to give a reason.

I actually found the watch interesting (then again, I like things quirky). I would have bought the one I tried (pic posted by @Drechristian ) if it were not being sold for:

It's very useful to know that this model actually has a model name - it might be useful for the OP to edit the thread title to include this so it has more of a chance of being found as a point of reference. There have been a couple of these floating around Ebay at unrealistic prices but one did finish at just over £1k in a proper 99p start auction about a year ago. Given that this was before the Brexit referendum that would probably mean $1.5k in today's money. I think they're a lovely and unusual watch and would happily wear one.
