Hi. I got a universal gold compur from 1939-1940 (according to serial number) but had the crown replaced by time with a U crown. Where can I find a compur unbranded crown in gold?

Perfectly normal and understand that these are service parts and not necessarily a good idea to try and replace with an “original” which was once discarded in a service. I’ve learned the hard way with ann expensive annd cross threaded Omega crown and I thanked goodness they are still in business and my watchmaker was able to replace the crown and stem with new parts. Let sleeping dogs lie. A service crown is not an issue IMO.

Thank you for your feedback. Tbh, it still bothers me, but I perfectly understand. Anyway it would be a replacement, really 😉

If you are already down this UG bunny hole, you learn to live with the imperfections in lovely, old birds from a defunct company. Do no harm is mantra #1.

I'd be more concerned about that dial, honestly.
Sorry for being too rude maybe, but crown is not the biggest issue of that timepiece!

I am new to all this, and to this forum. Not at all familiar. What is the issue with the dial? 😩😩😩

The dial looks reprinted, a common practice back in the day, which reduces the collectabilty and value these days. (The watch can be dated by the case serial number which will be on the inside or outside of the caseback).

The dial is missing its bezel ring, that’s why you see edges IMO. It’s also either a full or partial redial.
