    Gents,

I came across the following watch and I was wondering if you could give me some guidance. Is it kosher? How much should I be willing to spend? I know the pictures are far (really far) from conclusive, but seller seems is an old local watchmaker:

Thank you very much for your input!

I definitely found the pictures to be really far from conclusive. However, I love that ghost bezel! (and the ghost dial, the ghost case, the ghost movement, the ghost hands, etc.) :D

I had the feeling but wanted to double check.:(

It is selling for ~800USD, so it got my heart pumping for a few seconds.

    Thank you, @DirtyDozen12

22522 is the reference of the Film Compax. Knowing that very, very few are known, my heart would be broken if that was one of them, ruined forever...

It doesn't look anything like the Film Compax discussed in an earlier thread https://omegaforums.net/threads/film-compax-a-mystery-solved.3587/
Note that the left-hand sub-register has no ennumeration.

Yes, I can see the differences but there's no doubt that Film Compax is the ref 22522 and the serial number on this example is in the range of the other known examples. So, what happened to the original dial? The refinisher destroyed it and made another totally different layout based on another reference he saw? It was replaced, during a service, for other one with a more readable scale?

That is the original dial, stripped and painted over by some guy who didn't even have correct UG templates. You think he put any thought into it, other than making an additional $20 on the service?

Agree with Diabolik - get the rope.

I don't know if i understood correctly what you're saying.
No doubts that's a redial and a very poor one. Agree on that.
What i don't know and i'm asking is if under reference 22522 other dials beside Film Compax, were released?

I have documented one Compax with that case reference, and 3 Film-Compaxes. With a single example, not clear that the Compax left the factory that way.

This is the first Compax i see with this case reference. Always thought this reference was exclusive to Film Compax.

Do you think is not possible that the OP watch was, originally, a Film Compax with the dial replaced during a service (and later redialed) or a Film Compax with the dial destroyed by an incompetent redialer?
