    Im looking to buy an universal geneve Compax have always been interested in the brand but cannot find much information regarding to this model.

    It's legit, powered by a Lemania 1873 manual wind, produced from mid 80's to late 90's. Not the most interesting from a collector point of view but are good nice watches, i see them as the last sigh of UG as a prestigious brand. Much, much better than the horrible ones powered by the Valjoux 7750 produced around the same time.

    18 jewel movement marked as 17 so that narrows it to @1988 production right?

    Great movement I’ve got one in my Speedy pro and my Sinn 903 Navitimer.

    I have a UG brochure that includes this model. On a first glance I'd say that yours looks good; I'll scan in the document and post it up; probably tomorrow. I echo the assertion, admittedly only an opinion, that the movement in these are much nicer than the 7750s.
