I'm letting go an uncommon Universal Geneve chronometre in stainless steel, with a gold fluted bezel.

The 215-9 caliber movement is marked adjusted, with serial number.

In good working order. 35mm in diameter.

$2,000 USD via Paypal or Bank Wire + Shipping or best offer.

Surprised to see this watch still available. It is one of the great ironies of vintage watch collecting that chronometers are often undervalued. Think about it: the single most important function of any wristwatch is to keep accurate time, and the chronometers of the day were designed to show the world just how good the manufacturers were at refining that crucial function. In other words, these were not simply accurate watches, they were statements that played very important roles in the marketing of the manufacturers' full model lines.

Factor in the fairly recent run up in prices for (very similar) Polerouters, and it'a mystery to me why this very attractive and elegant watch, in fine condition, hasn't yet been snapped up. If I weren't de-leveraging at the moment, I'd be all over it!

Yep. Had it been a bog standard, black dialed, steel Polerouter in similar condition, it would probably have been gone now 😵‍💫

Hate to derail this sales thread (further! 😁), but part of me wants to say "so what?" - it's just a production method that makes sense from a manufacturing point of view that has - for little reason - been elevated to being something special. My feelings on the subject ties well into @Tony C.s comment re. chronometers 😉

I, too, am surprised. You can imagine the fanaticism that would come with a tropical black gilt chronometre UG. 😉

I will echo dismay that this is still here. It’s spectacular.

I would totally buy this one...if I hadn’t just bought a polerouter super! GLWS! I’m sure the right person will come along. If not, one of the people here who have commented will be able to resist no longer...

Listing & BUMPING of your thread:

I am finding my self more and more these days deleting bumps by sellers on multiple threads in the sales sections only to find they re add the bump later. This is not acceptable and the advert will be deleted and not reinstated even if you ask.

There is a limit of ONE thread, OR ONE bump, or one post, per day (24 hours) (regardless of number of watches listed) on the Private Watch Sales forum per person, use consideration.
