For sale is Universal Genève ref 12491 with interesting provenance. First the watch: - Case: width 35 mm (excl. crown), height 42mm - Clean 285 Universal movement - Everything works - Service history unknown so consider it in need of one - Strong case with gold marks - Dial is redone - Hands: gold hour and minute hand. Blued steel seconds hand and index hands. - Crown: original UG but I think it may be a later service one. Provenance: Comte (or in English: count) Antoine D’Aymery was born in 1922. I can’t find much about his early life but he was a decorated war hero (Officier de la Légion d’honneur, Croix de guerre 39-45, Médaille de la Résistance). After the war he had a career in aviation amongst other at Union Aéromaritime de Transport or UAT. He was a member of the board at UAT and later at Union des Transports Ariens. At 19 September 1961 he was presented with this watch (I can’t not connect this date to a specific reason). Antoine D’Aymery passed away in 2011. I tried to contact one of his sons a couple of times but to no result. I bought this watch at an auction in Asia what makes one wonder how it got there. Anyway: I’ll let it go. Asking is price is: (and that is what I have in it) EUR 1.950. Payment in euro. Bank wire strongly preferred. Paypal to be discussed but you pay fees. No trades please. I have dozens of feedback on various watch forums and over 250 on Ebay (as Mark020). Returns only if grossly miss represented. Watch and me are in the Netherlands. If required contact via phone/whatsapp /Facetime/insta(Markk020)/Linkedin possible. More pics upon request.
