This is very nice ... hard to find in this condition. These movements are pretty much indestructible.
sorry i'm being dumb, 15 is the number of jewels. I didn't realize there are both 15 and 17 jewel versions of the 263. I think this is a 263......
Thanks, and noted! Finding an exceptional dial now and then is, of course, why many of us enjoy collecting so much.
I'm going to resurrect this thread as I've been puzzling over this one for a while. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-UNI...134305?hash=item4b7ff251e1:g:YwQAAOSw6bRfQC6mPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Obviously the puzzling starts along the lines of "what in the name of f%@#.. is going on with that dial (Roso Minaneus !?) but then goes on to trying to work out the calibre. As far as I can see it's not a 260, 261, 262 or 267 and what looks suspiciously like laser etching on the ratchet wheel doesn't help things. What is it and why?
I don’t have answers on the dial or caliber but I think the engraving on the ratchet wheel is fairly common for this time period. I don’t have access to my pics at the moment but here’s a screen grab of something from the 30s
