good morning all, came across this Universal Genève watch and need help in determining if the price is right for my collection? It is gold plated
Cal. 138SS ref# S20214-13. It is being offered to me for $1100 us. Thank you all in advance for your assistance.

 

I would personally snap it up at that price without hesitation.

I'm not sure that the seconds hand is correct. The shape doesn't look quite right and it is also a different gold colour to the other hands.

 

Indeed the second hand looks weird.

Because it’s an important part of the original watch and should be preserved, no matter how much you may think it’s trashed, the next owner is unlikely to agree. Also the buckle is worth something !

 

Having had forego importing an almost NOS mid 50's strap with the last UNI I purchased for fear of confiscation by customs, I wholeheartedly agree!

 

Unfortunately the buckle is spidel
